Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports that Liverpool found West Ham’s set-pieces ‘very difficult’ to defend on Sunday.
The Liverpool boss also admitted that his side lost ‘too many balls’ to David Moyes’ high-flying side during their enthralling encounter at the London Stadium.
West Ham recorded a memorable 3-2 win over the Reds over the weekend and leapfrogged them in the Premier League table.
But it came with its air of controversy, with West Ham’s opening goal, via a corner, and Aaron Cresswell’s challenge on Jordan Henderson being huge talking points.
Whilst Klopp admitted the difficulties his side had in defending West Ham set-pieces, he couldn’t help but also aim a dig by claiming that, at one point ‘only one team’ was playing.
“Counter-attacks, they do well in these situations,” said Klopp. “They have quality in these situations.
“Then, the second set-piece we concede, it’s a great set-piece, I have to say – In the end, it’s very difficult to defend when the ball is played in that well.
“We lost too many balls (in the second half). That’s why they counter-attacks and in the first half they didn’t have that.
“It was no need, we had them where we wanted them, it’s 1-1. All good. It was only one team playing.”

This has been an incredible return to West Ham for David Moyes and a job that could possibly see him lift some silverware this season.
During his successful days in Everton colours, he got them to Europe and competed with ferocity.
But he was unable to get them over that line and deliver a trophy for the Merseyside club.
Perhaps that can end in East London, with the League Cup and the Europa League realistic targets for the Hammers.
