Ian Wright has said on Ringer FC’s Wrighty’s House podcast that Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli knows that he is going to play regularly this season.

The Arsenal legend has said that after speaking to Martinelli in pre-season training, he has got the feeling that the 21-year-old Brazilian knows that he is going to get more chances this season than in previous campaigns and could explode.

The Brazil international made 21 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal last season.

Martinelli scored six goals and gave six assists in those matches.

Wright said about Martinelli on Ringer FC’s Wrighty’s House podcast: “I know him and Emile Smith Rowe were battling it out last season, but it strikes me this season when I have spoken to him, he knows he is going to be playing. He knows he is playing.”

Big player for the Gunners

In our view, Gabriel Martinelli is a big player for Arsenal, and we think that his importance in the team is only going to grow.

The 21-year-old is a mobile young player who can operate anywhere across the front-line.

This is a huge positive for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who likes to play his team in a fast-paced and dynamic way.

Martinelli has had injury problems in the past, but he has got over them and is now in peak physical condition.

Arsenal will be aiming to finish in the Premier League top four next season and will also compete in the UEFA Europa League.

Martinelli will play a big role in the Gunners’ quest to be successful next season.
