Jürgen Klopp has been speaking to the media after Liverpool beat Newcastle 3-1 last night, and he’s complained about the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, Klopp called the Premier League “strange” following the lack of information provided by them, amid the COVID-19 Omicron crisis.
As quoted by the Liverpool Echo, the German said: “Three players are probably not available. If they are available, we will say that. At Manchester United, I heard a number of players. Is it necessary to know who or how many? Not knowing is quite strange.
“We have no information about Tottenham. I have no idea. I have no idea what to expect from them. In the analysis meeting they will use old fixtures obviously but we don’t know what we can make from that.”
Klopp is quite right to be annoyed with this situation, as very few people seem to understand what’s going on right now.
Take this Saturday for example.
Manchester United vs Brighton, Crystal Palace vs Watford, West Ham vs Norwich, Southampton vs Brentford and Everton vs Leicester have all been postponed.
However, Aston Villa vs Burnley is still going ahead, as is Arsenal’s clash with Leeds, despite the fact more transmission of the virus could take place in these games, worsening the situation as a result.

Why not postpone the entire gameweek and start afresh on Boxing Day?
The Premier League also rejected requests from Tottenham and Leicester to postpone their game on Thursday evening, before eventually performing a U-turn on that decision just hours before kick-off (The Athletic).
In truth, the lack of leadership from the Premier League is staggering.
How is COVID-19 affecting Liverpool?
Well, the Reds are better off than most Premier League clubs, as Klopp revealed that everybody who steps foot inside the AXA Training Centre on a daily basis has been vaccinated.

Only Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones returned positive tests ahead of the Newcastle game, and they are now waiting to see if they can face Spurs this Sunday.
While that isn’t ideal, Liverpool are mostly healthy, and have acted admirably amid the uncertainty.
