Paul Scholes told Premier League Productions during their live coverage of Tottenham’s win against Crystal Palace on Sunday that he has ‘never seen’ a centre-forward like Harry Kane create so many goals.

The England captain helped Spurs rip Palace to shreds on Sunday evening as they put four past their London rivals.

Added with scoring a brace, Kane also provided two goals for the now thriving Welshman Gareth Bale to remarkably take his assists tally for the campaign to 13.

Scholes shared his thoughts on Kane as a player and why he is so unique in being a playmaker-like number nine.

“It’s difficult to compare him to other centre-forward around Europe or the world because I have never seen a centre-forward that makes so many goals for people,” said Scholes.

“It’s almost like he’s a stroke between a number nine and a number ten. (And he’s doing that under Mourinho) more than I have ever seen.

“His record (goals and assists). He knows where people are. He’s got the cleverness to see people around him that are sometimes in better positions. And sometimes they aren’t.

“I have never seen him as an out-and-out number nine because I don’t think pace is his strength, is it? He’s a great finisher and he scores great goals from outside the box, which not may centre-forwards do really – his assists record, and the way he brings others into the game, he has to do that because he doesn’t have that lightning pace that gets him away from people.”

With the way Kane is going, he may well, or at least has the chance, of remarkably hitting 20+ goals and 20+ assists for the season in the Premier League.

Before Jose Mourinho walked through the doors of North London, some questioned how the Englishman was going to perform in his so-called defensive set-up.

Well, he is producing his best football under Mourinho, but he’ll be hoping it will be topped off by a Champions League finish and a trophy at the end of the campaign.
