Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ali Akman has admitted he dreams of playing for Liverpool after turning down Premier League rivals Manchester City, speaking to Goal and Spox.

One of Europe’s hottest strikers may have rejected a move to a British-based giant during the January transfer window but that doesn’t mean he won’t be showcasing his ice-cool finishing skills in England at some point in the future.

Speaking to NTV Spor last week, Akman admitted he chose Frankfurt over Man City believing the Commerzbank Arena, rather than the Etihad, is the ideal place to hone his talents.

You can see why he would come to such a conclusion.

Luka Jovic, Ante Rebic and Sebastien Haller all played the best football of their career in Frankfurt, while Portugal international Andre Silva has been a revelation under highly rated coach Adi Hutter too.

If Akman can follow in their footsteps, his dream move to Anfield may one day become a reality.

“First of all, I want to put people in a good mood (at Frankfurt) and play in the Champions League,” says Akman, via Fanatik.

“In the long term, however, I want to play in the Premier League or La Liga.”

“Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Barca would be perfect. It isn’t easy to get to those levels, of course. But I have self-confidence.

“I am mentally strong and I am aware of the difficulties I will face. The most important point here is to work more and more every day.”

Akman, who models his finishing skills on a certain Lionel Messi, has scored ten goals in 18 games for Bursaspor this season and will join Frankfurt on a free when his contract expires in July.
