Erik Lamela has confirmed that he’s set for a spell on the sidelines due to a foot injury with a post on Instagram.
The Argentine was in good spirits on social media, claiming that he’s already working hard to get back into action.
However, there may be a reason to be concerned as the winger was pictured wearing a protective boot in his post, signalling that his injury may have him out of action for a little while.
Lamela is now set to miss Spurs’ next game against West Bromwich Albion.
Luckily, he has the international break to work on his recovery, and we can only hope that he’ll be back in time to face Man City in a couple of weeks’ time.
However, even if he’s not back in action soon, it shouldn’t affect Spurs all that much as Jose Mourinho is spoilt for choice when it comes to wingers.
Steven Bergwijn, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale are all more than capable of playing on the wing, so one would hope that Tottenham can navigate this problem with relative ease.
Lamela seems to be working hard to get back in action, and we can only hope that he’s fully fit sooner rather than later.
