Jack Harrison re-signed for Leeds United on a season-long loan.

Jack Harrison has told The Daily Mail that he is set for a big year with Leeds United.

United have signed the 22-year-old Manchester City winger on another season-long loan, having had him at Elland Road last term.

On the whole, it was a disappointing 2018-19 campaign for Harrison, who only scored four times in 39 Championship appearances last term.

But he did spring to life toward the end of the season and the City-owned prospect, who earns £51,000 per week at Eastlands [Spotrac], says he is ready to prove himself in the Championship.

“This next year is going to be big – I need to prove to myself and other people that I can play in this league,” he told The Daily Mail.

“I can do a lot better than last year. I wanted to make sure I was prepared this time. I knew I wasn’t performing at my best, I wasn’t in a good place. You know the fans in England, they’re so passionate about the game.”

Leeds kick off their season with a trip to Bristol City tomorrow evening and Harrison is almost sure to start on the left-hand side of Marcelo Bielsa’s attack.

He has been in dazzling form in pre-season so far and the prospect of him replicating those performances in competitive games is an exciting one indeed.
