Paul Merson told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (13/03/21 at 2:00 pm) that the ‘phenomenal’ Harry Kane is a ‘worry’ for Arsenal ahead of their showdown with Tottenham today.

The one-time Arsenal favourite admitted that he ‘clapped’ Kane’s wondergoal against Crystal Palace last week before he slapped himself ‘around the face’ because he knew he couldn’t do that.

Arsenal fans will be well aware that Kane loves a goal in the North London derby and that will be no different in a few hours time.

Ahead of the NLD showdown, Merson thinks Tottenham’s thriving star, Kane, is the best centre-forward in the world.

“I was watching that (Kane’s goal v Palace) at home and I clapped,” said Merson. “I clapped and then I had to slap myself around the face.

“I was indoors and I literally went (starts to clap and then slaps himself across the face). I thought I cannot do that.

“But it was such a special goal. I just think he’s the best centre-forward in the world. I don’t care what anyone says. I think he is phenomenal. And that was a special goal. Not many people score that goal.

“And that is my worry come the game. You say before the game, Kane and Son. You can throw Bale into that recipe now as well.”

Whilst this Tottenham side have picked up in recent weeks, there is still that vulnerable nature to their defence and that’s something Mikel Arteta’s improving forward line have to target.

But for Arsenal, they also have their troubles at the back, and dare it be said, it’s even worse.

Like they proved in midweek and against Burnley last week, they like to shoot themselves in the foot.

And if they make the mistakes at the back like they were making in Greece then Kane, Gareth Bale and Heung-Min Son will seriously punish those errors.
