Stephane Dalmat has said that ever since Tanguy Ndombele signed for Tottenham Hotspur, he lost his way.

It’s safe to say that the 26-year-old, who went on a season-long loan at Napoli, ending up as a Serie A winner has had a poor spell in N17.

Stephane Dalmat, a fellow Frenchman as well who played for Tottenham Hotspur has had an honest say on Tanguy Ndombele and his time at the club.

Stephane Dalmat says Tanguy Ndombele was ‘lost’ at Tottenham

Signed for a record-breaking £63 million (Sky Sports) fee in 2019, the ex-Lyon midfielder was expected to set the Premier League alight.

Blessed with immaculate technique, quick feet and a nonchalant approach to the game reminiscent of Paul Pogba, it seemed like he had all the technical and athletic traits to thrive in English football.

However, Tanguy Ndombele has simply been far too hit-and-miss in a Tottenham shirt, as Stephane Dalmat has spoken his mind on what ultimately has been a failed spell at the club for him.

“Yes, I had high hopes for Tanguy Ndombele when he was at Lyon. He could have been a profile, but at Tottenham he got a bit lost”, he told FC Inter News.

HITC View: Ndombele could become a ‘what if’ player if he does not fix his ways

There is no questioning just how naturally gifted the French midfielder really is.

However, as Stephane Dalmat said, Tanguy Ndombele felt ‘lost’ at Tottenham and at the end of the day, it seems as if no manager during his time at the club really fancied him.

What that is down to is a mystery and to speculate would be bang out of order.

However, what can be said is that Ndombele’s inconsistency did not help his case whatsoever.

What’s done is done and wherever the former Lyon fan favourite plays next, he must write his own redemption arc.

While Tottenham should cut ties with Ndombele as soon as possible, the player, for his sake must ensure that he proves his worth, as he could end up being a ‘what if’ player and not much else as things are looking.
