Einar Iversen has a bright future at Everton after signing a new three-year contract at Goodison Park, the youngster’s agent Martin Klette has predicted in quotes reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Iversen might be a new name to many Toffees supporters but, if the 18-year-old continues to hone his considerable talents behind the scenes at Finch Farm, he could soon become a recognisable figure on the blue half of Stanley Park.
The likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Mason Holgate and Tom Davies have become regular members of Everton’s first-team after shining at Premier League 2 level.
And Iversen, after making seven appearances in the U23 competition this season, is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Calvert-Lewin and co in the years to come.
Everton tied the Norway U21 international down to a new, long-term deal recently and Klette believes this is an indication of how highly the Scandinavian is rated at Goodison.
“Negotiating with Everton I got the feeling that all the important decision makers in the club were positive about Einar and his future in the club,” Klette told the Echo of a player who captained the club’s U18 side in 2018/19.
“Their final offer reflected that.”
Iversen is just one of a growing array of talented youngsters to emerge out of a nation who appear to be on the verge of something of a golden generation.
When the delayed Euro 2020 tournament kicks off next summer, a Norway side containing the enigmatic talents of Martin Odegaard, Erling Haaland, Sander Berge, Josh King and Kristoffer Ajer could be considered dark horses for the entire competition.
