Andy Cole said on talkSPORT (2:39pm, January 17, 2021) that he does not think that Leeds United will get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

The former Manchester United striker made the comments following Leeds’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side went down 1-0 to the Seagulls at Elland Road in the league.

It was the Whites’ third successive loss in all competitions following defeats to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and to Crawley Town in the FA Cup.

Former United striker Cole believes that Leeds are inconsistent, but he does not think that they will go back down to the Championship.

Cole said on talkSPORT (2:39pm, January 17, 2021): “Inconsistent, but in saying that, I am not surprised they are inconsistent. This is their first time back in the Premier League for some time.”

The Englishman added: “I genuinely do believe Leeds will be okay.”

Need to improve

Leeds are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from 18 matches.

The West Yorkshire outfit are 11 points above the relegation zone, and it is hard to see them slip up.

However, it is clear that Leeds need to improve, especially in defence, and add consistency to their game.

The Whites have conceded as many as 34 goals already in the league this season, more than bottom-three teams Fulham and Sheffield United.
