Gary Neville has raved about Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder and reported Arsenal target Ruben Neves on Sky Sports Premier League (7:25pm, February 24, 2023).
The former Manchester United defender is surprised that Neves, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window, is still at Wolves.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Neves is good enough to play for any top team in any league.
Neville made the comments about the Portugal international midfielder ahead of the Premier League game between Fulham and Wolves at Craven Cottage in London on Friday evening.
Neves has been on the books of Wolves since 2017 when he joined from FC Porto.
According to Sport, Arsenal are keen on signing the Portugal international midfielder in the summer of 2023 and are ready to compete with Barcelona for his signature.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with the 25-year-old.
Gary Neville on Arsenal-linked Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves
Neville said, as transcribed by The Daily Express: “It’s interesting that you should say about Neves, he’s been at Wolves quite a long time.
“I genuinely believe that Ruben Neves could go and sit in any midfield in Europe in any team in any league and be comfortable.”

Summer exit possible?
In our view, Arsenal could be able to sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.
Neves is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League not to play for a top-six club.
The Portuguese star could see this summer as the time to move onto something bigger and better.
Yes, Wolves have played in the UEFA Europa League in recent years, but the Wanderers are unlikely to challenge for the UEFA Champions League places anytime soon.
Arsenal could win the Premier League title this season.
We believe that a move to the Gunners could be very appealing to Neves.
