Speaking on The View from The Lane Podcast, Jack Pitt-Brooke has named Adama Traore as the most likely player to sign for Tottenham this month.

Spurs have been linked with so many new signings this month, from Eric Bailly to Ivan Perisic, but Pitt-Brooke is led to believe that Traore is the most likely signing this month.

The Spaniard has been a long-term target for Tottenham, almost signing for the club in the summer transfer window, but now, with his Wolves contract ticking down, it sounds as though a move could be on the horizon.

What’s been said about Traore?

The journalist shared what he knows about the Traore situation.

“I think it’s more likely than not that they will end up signing Adama Traore. Traore, I gather, is still the likeliest target to come in, Tottenham are working on trying to get a deal done, Wolves do want to sell him and Spurs are trying to find a way to do it. Some talk about a possibility of a loan with an obligation, and I do think that Matt Doherty were to go back to Wolves it would be easier because that could be part of the deal, but so far, I don’t have any indication that that will actually happen, even if Tottenham want it to happen,” Pitt-Brooke said.

Need more

Traore would be a good signing for Tottenham – after all, Martin Keown did describe him as ‘awesome’ last week, and if Antonio Conte can successfully re-train him at wing-back, he could be a star.

However, they need more than just the Spaniard through the door this month.

Tottenham have some glaring issues in their squad, particularly at centre-back and up-front, so they can’t rest on their laurels, even if they do sign Traore.

Fabio Paratici needs to make sure he’s one of the busiest men in the Premier League during this final fortnight of the transfer window.
