Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has tipped Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a move to Crystal Palace.
The Manchester United full-back is very much out of favour at Old Trafford and Bailey is led to believe that the defender will be headed back to Selhurst Park on loan this summer.
This transfer is one that has been speculated for months at this point, and while it’s not moved quickly, Bailey believes that it will eventually get over the line.
What’s been said?
Bailey shared what he knows about Wan-Bissaka.
“Yeah, Wan-Bissaka, I fully expect him to move back to Crystal Palace before the end of the window on loan, he’ll probably spend the next two or three years there, similarly to how they sent Zaha back there. I think that one will happen as we have said before,” Bailey said.
Perfect move for him
Wan-Bissaka’s career has been on a downward trend for a little while now, but a return to Palace could be just what the doctor ordered for the defender.
He knows the club very well, some of his old teammates are still there, Patrick Vieira has done a remarkable job with young players lately, and there’s a spot waiting for him at right-back.
Indeed, with all due respect to Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Ward, one would imagine that Wan-Bissaka would be a regular starter if he were to return to the Eagles, and he could rediscover the form that earned him a £50m move to Manchester United in the first place.
Wan-Bissaka is a very talented defender when he’s used correctly, and there’s reason to believe that he would thrive if he went back to Palace.
