Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter in disgust after seeing a photo of Rafa Benitez taking training at Everton’s Finch Farm base.
What’s the story?
Well, after sealing a shock return to Merseyside, the Spaniard was pictured overseeing his first training session with the Toffees.
After a photo of him dressed from head to toe in Everton gear made it’s way to Liverpool fans, the reaction has been one of horror.
In truth, it is very strange to see.
Benitez spent six years at Liverpool, and is strongly associated with the colour red on Merseyside.
So, to see him wrapped in blue is a very odd sight.
It feels like we’ve stumbled into some sort of parallel universe, in all honesty!

Becoming a manager at any club is tough enough.
You have to learn your players inside and out, try to stay connected to the fanbase, and above all, achieve results.
Given his links to Liverpool, Benitez is already an unpopular presence among Everton fans before he’s even managed a game for the club.
Should the 61-year-old lose his first few games for the Toffees, things could get toxic.
One thing’s for certain – the Merseyside derby should have a bit more life about it from now on!
