Chris Sutton has admitted on Twitter that he mocked the idea of Patrick Bamford having a good game for Leeds United before their demolition of Aston Villa last night.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side ended the Villans’ four-match winning streak in the Premier League by thumping the hosts 3-0 in the West Midlands.
And it was a second-half hat-trick from Bamford – a £10 million signing in 2018 – that did the damage for Leeds.
The win propelled United up to third in the table, with Bamford netting three goals in five games before last night.
And when it was suggested to Sutton that he should include the 27-year-old in his Fantasy Football Team this weekend, the BBC pundit admits that he openly dismissed the idea.

Prior to this season, Bamford really was quite a divisive figure among Leeds fans.
Bielsa is a huge fan of the former Chelsea youth, due to his work ethic and ability to link with his attacking team-mates, but he has been wasteful in front of goal since arriving in West Yorkshire.
But the Premier League is bringing a different animal out of the Leeds marksman – who now has six goals in his first six top-flight appearances – and long may it last from the Whites’ perspective.
