Toby Alderweireld has thanked clubs like Tottenham on Instagram, after he made his 500th career appearance.
The 33-year-old, who left Spurs last summer, reached that milestone with Qatari club, Al-Duhail.
He then posted on Instagram that he feels ‘privileged’ to have represented clubs like Tottenham during his playing days, with the club itself responding back by saying ‘a lot of great memories together’.
Perhaps the standout memory for Alderweireld in north London was reaching the Champions League final under Mauricio Pochettino.
Many will still question how that star-studded team didn’t put a trophy to their name because they cried out for it.
From their ruthless goalscorer Harry Kane to the ice-cool Jan Vertonghen at the back, Spurs had it all, from top to bottom.
The biggest thing that was missing was squad depth and Daniel Levy needing to back the man on the touchline.
That simply didn’t happen and the supporters were the ones who paid the price, as they now try to rebuild under Antonio Conte.
Even with a trophy-laden coach at Hotspur Way, the biggest worry from supporters is whether those at the top will back Conte enough.
Whilst the likes of Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen, Danny Rose, Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele, to name a few, are no longer at the club.
They still have the likes of Heung-Min Son and Kane, who are crying for more quality around them, so Spurs can end their trophy drought.
