Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has responded to Celtic interim-manager John Kennedy’s comments about the delayed punishment for the Ibrox club’s so-called Covid Five, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.
Celtic interim-manager Kennedy recently complained why the five Rangers players who breached Covid rules have not been punished yet, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.
Nathan Patterson is among the five players who have been handed six-game bans, but Rangers have appealed against it and the SFA are going to make a decision on April 20.
This means that the young right-back is available for selection for the Scottish Cup tie between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox next weekend.
Kennedy is not happy at all that Patterson will be available to play against Celtic, and Rangers boss Gerrard has said that he understands why the Scotsman is so frustrated.
The Scottish Sun quotes Gerrard as saying: “We don’t control when the hearings are held, I agree with John on the inconsistencies from the SFA. I feel his pain. If I was John, I’d be frustrated if good players were available to play against my team.
“We were really strong with our punishments for the lads. I don’t see see any consistency with the outcome of the bans compared to previous situations.
“In Dubai, social distancing rules were clearly broken and nothing was done. It seems as if the SFA are guessing with punishments.”

Big game
With Rangers having already clinched the Scottish Premiership title this season, Celtic will want to beat the Gers and maintain their chances of winning the Scottish Cup this season.
As for Rangers, the Gers will be keen on piling further misery on Celtic by denying them the chance to keep their season alive.
