Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero will be out for ten weeks after sustaining a calf injury with FC Barcelona.
The Catalan club confirmed on their official Twitter account that Aguero will start the new season on the injury table. The Argentine striker signed for Barcelona this summer after his contract with City expired.
Injuries have plagued Aguero for the past few seasons, with the striker missing multiple games for City over the years due to numerous knocks and niggles.
Indeed, last season alone Aguero missed 17 games with City through injury. The year before, the tally was even higher at 24 in large part to a knee problem.
Indeed, things at Barcelona have imploded over the past week. As well as Aguero now out for the opening games of the season, the footballing world was shocked when it was announced that Lionel Messi will leave the club.
The decision rocked the sport to its core, with Messi hosting a farewell press conference over the weekend. According to multiple reports, the former Barcelona legend will join PSG in the coming days.
With Aguero now injured and without one of his closest friends in the squad, life at Barcelona has got off to the worst possible start for the former City attacker.
