Chris Sutton has predicted on BBC Sport that Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will play out a draw this weekend.

Manchester United will take on Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.

Former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport pundit Sutton believes that the Red Devils and the Magpies will play out a 1-1 draw.

Chris Sutton predicts Manchester United v Newcastle United

Sutton wrote: “I don’t think Manchester United will win this. The only question is, will Newcastle take three points home, or just one?

“It’s not that I don’t feel Manchester United are making progress under Erik ten Hag, because they are.

“But I fancy Newcastle because they have been taking the game to their opposition, and the goals have started to flow – they have scored nine in their past two matches.

“I can’t see Magpies boss Eddie Howe changing his approach at Old Trafford, because that’s not his style.

“That should make things more open, which might help Manchester United. The trouble for them is that everyone scrutinizes their every result so much and it is always painted as triumph or disaster, with nothing in between.”

Who will win?

In our view, the Premier League match between Manchester United and Newcastle United at Old Trafford this weekend is likely to end in a draw.

Both Manchester United and Newcastle are playing well at the moment and are winning matches.

The Red Devils have bounced back from the defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League with wins against Omonia Nicosia (twice) and Everton.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have hammered Brentford and Fulham in their last two Premier League matches.

We think that the two sides will cancel each other out, and that the match will end in a draw.
