Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist Ryan Taylor has been discussing Ben Davies and his future at Tottenham Hotspur.
It’s no secret that Tottenham want to sign a new left-sided centre-back this summer, and inevitably, these rumours have led to speculation about Davies’ role at the club.
The Welshman was fantastic for Spurs after the appointment of Antonio Conte, but with a new man arriving, he will fall down the pecking order.
However, according to Taylor, Spurs plan to keep Davies in and around the team, and he even expects the defender to be offered a new contract.
What’s been said?
Taylor gave an update on Davies.
“Obviously Ben Davies has been exceptional, he was brilliant on Sunday in Wales’ playoff win against Ukraine. He will remain a part of the squad and I expect him to be handed a new contract offer, but Spurs are looking to get to that next level now,” Taylor said.

Earned it
Ben Davies will reportedly be offered a new deal, and it’s fair to say that he’s earned the right to be given a new contract.
The Welshman has been absolutely transformed since the arrival of Antonio Conte back in late 2021, and he deserves improved terms after his recent performances.
Davies has gone from being a second-string left-back to a bona fide star at centre-back, and while he may not keep his starting spot for much longer, his performances over the past few months deserve to be recognised.
Davies will be getting what he deserves if he’s offered a new deal.
