Well, an Arsenal-mad footballer is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar this summer.
Tottenham will scout Ridvan Yilmaz for Besiktas this weekend and TRT Spor has reported in recent days that the Lilywhites are ‘particularly interested’ in the 20-year-old.
And no doubt that Yilmaz would absolutely love a transfe to North London.
Well, the red half anyway.
That’s because Yilmaz might be something of an Arsenal man and going by his comments last year, he is desperate to play for the Gunners at some point.
He told the same publication, TRT Spor: “My goal is to make money for Beşiktaş and leave here. Of course, I want to go to Europe. I want to hear England, but it is a very difficult league. At first, the Premier League may be difficult for me. I dream of going to Arsenal.”
And it just so happens, Arsenal might be in the market for a left-back.
Okay so Kieran Tierney won’t be benched anytime sooner, but the Scot is injured at the moment and that has given Nuno Tavares a platform to reiterate that he probably isn’t the answer.
The 22-year-old Portuguese star is an electric attacker, but being a left-back is majorly about defensive abilities and, well, Tavares comes up short in this area.
If Mikel Arteta and Edu decide that they need stronger cover for Tierney next season, well challenging Tottenham for Yilmaz makes sense.
Give him a choice between Spurs and the Emirates Stadium outfit and we already know who he would choose.
