Heung-Min Son has admitted that his missed chance during Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool was ‘a bit sad’ to watch, as he told Premier League Productions.

The £22 million flying Spurs forward (Mirror) was shown a replay of his guild-edge chance in the first half and he admitted that he ‘didn’t want to see’ it.

Son wasn’t the only one missing a number of big chances against Jurgen Klopp’s men because all of Tottenham’s forward line saw their chances either squandered or saved by Alisson Becker.

This wasn’t a case of a half-an-hour period where Antonio Conte’s side could have killed the game off, but 90+ minutes of pure aggression and big chances created.

Whilst it was a solid point for the North London club against a team pushing for the Premier League title, those missed chances, understandably so, left Son a little dejected.

“When you play against Liverpool or these big teams,” said Son. “Then you don’t get that many chances as we had. I think we needed to kill this game.

“Look at this (replays of his miss is shown). I don’t want to see because it’s a bit sad. It was a disappointing afternoon.”

If that’s a sign of things to come from Tottenham players under Conte, then they are serious challengers for the top four.

The Italian is unbeaten in the Premier League since taking charge and he will be hoping their COVID troubles are behind them and they can surge towards those Champions League places.

It remains to be seen whether this works in Tottenham’s favour or not, but they do have several games in hand on those teams around them.

From their Burnley game that was postponed because of the snow to a COVID outbreak meaning that they couldn’t fulfil fixtures against Brighton and Leicester.
