Some Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Filip Helander for Steven Gerrard’s side on Thursday evening.
Helander was in action for Rangers in their Europa League Round of 16 second-leg tie against Bayer Leverkusen away from home in Germany.
Gerrard’s team lost the match 1-0 and the tie 4-1 on aggregate to the Bundesliga club.
While it was a disappointing performance from the Gers, one player who did well for the Scottish Premiership club was Helander.
The central defender had not played a competitive game since December 2019, but it did not look like that he had been out of action for so long.
The 27-year-old was strong at the back and made some very good challenges for Rangers.
According to WhoScored, the Sweden international central defender had a pass accuracy of 76.5%, won one header, took 54 touches, and made two tackles, three interceptions and four interceptions.

Some Rangers fans were impressed with the display produced by Helander against Bayer in the Europa League on Thursday evening, and have raved about him on Twitter.
