Paul Scholes told Premier League Productions that Thiago brings a ‘different ball game’ to Liverpool.
The Premier League legend doesn’t think Thiago will score lots of goals for Liverpool, but he does think, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, he now brings that element of ‘worry’ from a creative aspect for opposition teams.
Thiago started his first game at Anfield on Sunday, as Liverpool recorded a goalless draw at home to the current leader’s Manchester United.
Nonetheless, Scholes shared his honest thoughts on Thiago being Liverpool’s new deep-lying playmaker.
“I always felt that Liverpool’s midfielders aren’t that creative,” said Scholes. “They don’t score that many goals, it’s the fullbacks that you have to worry about.
“But now all of a sudden with the signing of Thiago and he brings that to this team. He brings that creative quality.
“I don’t think he will score loads of goals. He will chip in with the odd goal, here and there. Normally, spectacular goals as well but he’s a different ball game to what Liverpool have had the last two years.”

Scholes was an expert at pinging balls at whichever direction, speed and distance he wanted to during his playing days and Thiago will be hoping to work similar sort of magic in England’s top-flight.
It doesn’t help Thiago’s cause that he’s playing in a makeshift team with two midfielders at centre-back.
Thiago, alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, is a serious midfield, not just in the Premier League, but in Europe.
But Liverpool fans may not be able to see it until next season given their injury problems.
