Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has sent a warning to Kai Havertz, who joined Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal star has written in SportsKeeda that Kai Havertz could initially struggle to make himself an important player in midfield for the Gunners.
Merson believes that the Germany international could find it hard to make an impact in midfield for Arsenal initially.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that it is going to take a while for the 24-year-old to get used to playing in midfield for Arsenal.
Havertz can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward.
The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
According to The Sun, Arsenal paid Chelsea £65 million for Havertz, who is earning £331,000 per week as salary.
Merson wrote: “I’ve watched Havertz for Arsenal in midfield, and it’s going to take him some time. I don’t think that’s his natural position.”

It will be interesting to see which position Havertz eventually settled on at Arsenal.
It could be in the left-sided midfield role.
Havertz has made 91 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The German star has scored 19 goals and given seven assists in those games.
