Matt Le Tissier has told talkSPORT that it wouldn’t be ‘as special’ for Harry Kane if he left Tottenham and won a trophy elsewhere.

With Tottenham heading towards a potential finish outside of the top four, there has been a lot of talk about Kane’s future at the club.

He has produced his best season in a Tottenham shirt and it’s understandable why the best of the best would be hunting for his talents.

But Le Tissier, who was a one-club man himself at Southampton, shared his thoughts on Kane’s future and gave a more positive outlook that fans will love.

“What’s in the player’s mind? What’s in Harry Kane’s head,” questioned Le Tissier “Does he really love the football club that much that he doesn’t really want to move on?

“I was in a position where I was at a football club that I loved. I loved the area that I lived in. I just felt like it was the decision in my life to keep me the happiest that I could be.

“If Kane feels like he wants to break every goalscoring record at Spurs and he wants to try and stay there to help his team win a trophy.

“I think if he were to go to a Manchester City or Barcelona and win a trophy then I don’t think that would be as special to him as if he stayed at Spurs and helped them to win a trophy.”

Well, Kane has a chance to taste trophy success with Spurs in a few weeks time when they lock horns with Manchester City in the League Cup final.

But, of course, with Spurs at risk of not playing Champions League football next season, it will worry some in North London that they won’t be able to hold onto him.

This is where Daniel Levy needs to bring out his cheque book, not to offer Kane more money, but try and lure the best of the best to Spurs and showcase to their star man that they really mean business about pushing up that Premier League table.
