Ian Wright shared that whenever Tottenham striker, Harry Kane, is stepping up to take a penalty, he doesn’t think he is going to miss, as he told ITV Sport.

On Saturday, England recorded a 2-1 win over Switzerland in a friendly encounter at Wembley, with Tottenham’s number nine leading the line.

The Three Lions came from 1-0 down to secure the win against the Swiss, with Kane scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot.

It was the Tottenham man’s 49th strike for his country, which puts him level-second with Sir Bobby Charlton in England’s all-time list.

When Wright was asked a ‘very leading question’ by ITV presenter, Mark Pougatch, on if Kane is the best penalty taker he has ever seen, the former Arsenal man issued this response.

“It’s the same when Shearer used to take one,” said Wright. “I fancy them to score.

“When he is in front. I just fancy him to score. I don’t think he’s going to miss.”

It’s only a matter of time before Kane becomes England’s all-time highest goal-getter.

Unless the 28-year-old goes on a barren run during these next few months, he should get the record before the 2022 World Cup itself.

England have a number of UEFA Nations League games to deal with before Qatar, as Kane is now four behind Wayne Rooney’s all-time record.

Rooney netted his record-breaking goal at Wembley, in front of a packed-out crowd, and Kane will be hoping to do the same when he breaks the record.
