Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Tottenham Hotspur after their loss to Chelsea at the weekend.
The north London outfit lost at Stamford Bridge in a game that could end up being season-defining as Spurs continue to push for a place in the top four.
Tottenham, simply put, weren’t good enough on the day, and Antonio Conte’s reaction after the game told the whole story.
The Italian was quite obviously dejected and disappointed after losing to his former employers, and Ferdinand believes that the Italian has underestimated the job he has on his hands at Tottenham.
What’s Ferdinand said?
The pundit gave his view on Conte at Spurs.
“It was like a men against a boys’ team, maybe not a boys’ team, that’s too disrespectful, but it looked like a team that knew what they were doing against a team that didn’t think they deserved to be there playing at Stamford Bridge, that’s how it looked. When you saw Conte afterwards. I don’t think that he realised the mountain of the job that he had to do when he was going in there,” Ferdinand said.

Easy to underestimate
Conte may have underestimated the task on his hands at Spurs, and to be honest, we can’t really blame him if he has.
This is a squad that contains one of the best strikers in the world, a former two-time PFA Young Player of the Year winner and a number of players who’ve appeared in a Champions League final.
On paper, it sounds like it should be easy to get this team into the top four, but as Conte is learning, things are never simple when Spurs are involved.
