Darren Bent has stated that Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has ‘won two Golden Boots’, so Ivan Toney can’t say the North London club won’t win anything until they ‘get a striker’, as he told the United View.
Brentford hitman Toney – whose side beat Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League campaign – suggested on Baller Talk that Mikel Arteta’s side won’t win anything until they bring in a top-quality striker.
Arsenal’s two main men are – Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette – players who have fired them to the FA Cup, scored in Europe and in the Premier League.
Whilst Toney has started life well in England’s top-flight, the London-based attacker isn’t on par with the above two players, at this moment, because he hasn’t proven himself.
And despite suggestions from Arsenal fans that Toney was ‘dissing’ players like Lacazatte and Aubameyang, this is what Bent had to say about the matter, but first United View host, Flex, opened up the conversation.
Flex stated: “He had a lot to say, the other day – Ivan Toney said he can’t see Arsenal winning anything until they get a striker.
“Robbie (Lyle from AFTV) is saying ‘he shouldn’t say that, he is dissing Aubameyang. He is dissing Lacazette. What has he done? He has just come to the league. He hasn’t proved anything yet. “
“I don’t mind it,” said Bent. “But I don’t think he can say until they get a striker because you are talking about Aubameyang, the guy has won two Golden Boots.”

Aubameyang may have endured his worst season in Arsenal colours last time out.
But during previous campaigns, regardless of Arsenal’s troubles, he has done wonders for the club.
It also needs to be remembered that he scored an incredible 141 goals in 213 games for Dortmund (transfermarkt) and he has 89 in 153 for Arsenal, despite those struggles last season.
If Aubameyang can find his mojo back then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be competing with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane and Mo Salah for that top goalscorer spot.
