Chris Sutton has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:55pm, April 12, 2021) that he thinks that Marcelo Bielsa will sign a new contract with Leeds United.

The former Chelsea striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, believes that Bielsa will carry on as Leeds head coach beyond the end of the season.

The Argentine has been in charge of the Whites since the summer of 2018 and is out of contract at the Premier League club at the end of the season.

La Nacion in Argentina reported this past weekend that the Argentine is set to sign a new deal with Leeds and commit his long-term future to the Premier League club.

Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:55pm, April 12, 2021): “All Leeds fans are telling me there’s no way he will go. I don’t think he will go, but he is building something very, very special there.”

Leeds United stay?

Bielsa has not signed long-term contracts at Leeds, but given how things are going at the moment, it is very likely that he will be at Elland Road next season.

The Argentine seems happy at the club, the fans absolutely love him, and the football the team are playing is very entertaining.

Things are going great at Leeds, and Bielsa will surely want to stay at the club and take them to even greater success next season and beyond.

Second-half plan

Meanwhile, Diego Llorente has outlined Leeds’s plan for the second half against Manchester City at the weekend.

The Whites played the entire second half of the Premier League game with 10 men due to the sending-off of Liam Cooper in the final minutes of the first period.

Leeds won the match at the Etihad Stadium 2-1, and defender Llorente has outlined the team’s plan for the second half.

The Spaniard told Leeds’s official website: “The plan was not to suffer a lot, try to recover the ball in their half but that we knew that was going to be very difficult.”
