Michail Antonio has told ITV’s Football Show Podcast there is ‘no question’ that Tottenham are in the Premier League title race, whilst Crystal Palace winger, Andros Townsend, has also backed them during this ‘crazy’ season.
The West Ham striker also added that he doesn’t see ‘anyone’ in England’s top-flight who has been ‘as close’ as Jose Mourinho’s men so far.
Spurs recorded a 1-0 win at Burnley on Monday night to move fifth in the table where they are now two points behind leaders Everton.
Antonio pointed out that Tottenham’s forward line is a reason behind his comments, whilst Townsend thinks that there is ‘no-one’ better than Mourinho in these situations.
“No question about it,” said Antonio. “No-one has started the season like them. It’s whether they can keep the consistency. The number of goals they have got. The teams they have played.
“Even the three goals against us in the 16 minutes, it was like, they are prolific. If they can continue doing that then, out of all the teams we have played, I don’t see anyone as close as Tottenham so far.”

“I think the game against West Ham pretty much sums up Spurs, at the minute,” Townsend told TalkSport (27/10/20, 10 am start). “Where it’s amazing for 80 minutes, cruising and then at the last minute, there are three goals.
“There is no-one better than Jose Mourinho to get them over. Hopefully, it can be Spurs but it’s going to be a crazy, crazy season.”

The Mourinho factor is a big plus in this for Tottenham, including their forward line – Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
Those in North London are well aware that if the above two stay fit then Spurs are scoring goals for fun and a certain Gareth Bale hasn’t even warmed up his engine yet.
Injuries, defence and winning those games against the so-called big six may just prove to be the turning point for Spurs because the door is certainly open for the unexpected to happen this season.
