Jack Wilshere has shared that he ‘doesn’t regret’ his comments about Tottenham after winning the FA Cup with Arsenal, as he told Tubes’ YouTube channel.
After Arsenal beat Hull in the 2014 FA Cup final, Wilshere led an anti-Tottenham chant during the trophy parade and did the same the following year.
Whilst it made him even more loved by the Arsenal supporters, it understandably didn’t sit well with those at Tottenham and seemingly the Football Association.
Wilshere shared why he doesn’t regret his comments and what the FA told him after the first time he made those comments.
“You know, my mum’s side of my family, they are all Tottenham,” said Wilshere. “I grew up getting so much stick, so no I don’t regret it.
“Yes, I did (get done for that). The second time I did. The first time, it was funny and it was banter. Then I get a letter from the FA saying ‘listen, enough is enough. Don’t do it again’.
“Of course, next year comes around and we win it and I am there again, so I got in trouble.”
Wilshere is currently a free agent after leaving Bournemouth last season after they failed to earn promotion to the Premier League.
It will be interesting to see where Wilshere’s career path takes him next because many are surprised as to how far he has fallen down the ladder.
Injuries have hit him hard over the years and it has seen him go from being an England international to recently leaving a Championship side as a free agent.
