Phil Hay has told The Phil Hay Show podcast on The Athletic that Leeds United will not revise the offer they have already made to Ezgjan Alioski.
The well-known and well-respected journalist, who now works as the Leeds United correspondent for The Athletic, has claimed that there is an offer from the Premier League club to Alioski, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
However, according to Hay, the left-back has yet to accept those terms, and if he does not, then the club will simply let him go at the end of the season.
Hay said about Alioski on The Phil Hay Show podcast on The Athletic, as transcribed by MOTLeedsNews: “I’m absolutely certain Leeds will go for a [new] left-back [in the summer], given Alioski has still not taken the offer on the table and given that I don’t expect Leeds to revise that offer or up it at all, it does increasingly look like he will be going.
“They’ve reached the point where they need an out-and-out left-back, a specialist in that area. Leeds want him to stay, there’s an offer on the table, it won’t be improved or changed, he’ll either accept it or not.
“I can’t say if he’s going to Galatasaray, I don’t think anything has been formally accepted but the talk of Galatasaray is extremely strong.”

Sensible stance?
Alioski, who can also operate as a winger or as a wing-back, is one of the best players at Leeds and is an important figure in the team.
The 29-year-old is a hard-working player who gives his all on the pitch and is very committed.
However, the North Macedonia is 29 years of age now, and one can understand why Leeds do not want to pay him a lot.
If Alioski leaves Elland Road at the end of the season, then it is imperative that Leeds bring in a recognised left-back who can hit the ground running.
According to WhoScored, Alioski has made 20 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leeds so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
