Stuart Pearce has stated that he ‘doesn’t like’ the fact that West Ham haven’t lost a game by more than one goal since January 2021 because they have to play Liverpool at the weekend, as he told talkSPORT.

Both Liverpool and West Ham are in European action in midweek, before they can lock horns at the weekend in the Premier League.

The duo are the form teams of, not just England’s top-flight, but Europe itself.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have won all their games in the Champions League so far and the Hammers have followed suit in the Europa League.

Then, only two points separate them in the Premier League table, as the East London club can go above them with all three points on Sunday.

This is what Pearce had to say when it was put to him that West Ham haven’t lost a game by more than one goal since January, as he sent them a warning about the ‘stern test’ awaiting them.

“To be fair, that’s not a bad stat,” said Pearce. “I don’t like that stat being wielded about because we have Liverpool coming to town on Sunday.

“That will be a stern test. It will be a stern test for both teams. We are organised, competitive, athletic and we have a bit of everything.”

It is going to be some battle at the London Stadium and proof of how far West Ham have come during these past few years.

Moyes didn’t win Manager of the Year last season, but the road he is taking his club down during this campaign, he will be unlucky to miss out again in May.

There is a strong possibility that they can finish in Europe again and add a trophy to their name.

The Irons are still in the League Cup, going strong in Europe and will also want to have a serious crack at the FA Cup.
