Cadiz striker Anthony ‘Choco’ Lozano was linked with a January move to West Ham United but, speaking to AS, he has no idea if the Premier League outfit were seriously interested in his services.
After selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax early in the window, the Hammers spent the rest of the month scouring the market for a replacement.
For a while at least, Lozano found himself on the world’s longest ‘short-list’, catching the eye of the London giants with his tireless performances for La Liga newcomers Cadiz.
At least, that is what the reports claimed.
According to Noticias Cadistas, West Ham were willing to pay £13.5 million for the Honduras international.
Whether they actually made a bid, however, is uncertain. Lozano certainly doesn’t have the answer to that particular poser.
“I don’t know!” the 27-year-old quips when asked about West Ham’s alleged interest.
“The truth is that I don’t know if it was real. They didn’t tell me anything. There is always rumours.”

Former Barcelona B forward Lozano only joined Cadiz in 2019 and appears to have his heart set on a lengthy stay at the Ramon de Carranza.
Of course, that could all change if Cadiz are relegated and West Ham come calling in the summer, after securing their place in the Champions League.
“I’m very happy here, I want to end the season here, we must save ourselves (from the drop) and then let’s see if I can continue here for many years,” Lozano added.
“The truth is that the people of Cádiz are similar to those of Honduras in character. They are very happy people who are always messing around, as they say here. I adapted very quickly also in terms of the weather.
“I’m super happy to be playing in La Liga again.”
