Tony Cascarino has told talkSPORT on Saturday morning that he doesn’t believe that Harry Kane will refuse to turn up for Tottenham training.

The Telegraph claim that Kane’s England teammates think the Tottenham striker, in order to force a move this summer, won’t turn up for pre-season training.

Kane is currently on his holidays after guiding England to the final of Euro 2020 – he is due to return at the start of August, just like the rest of his national teammates.

But with rumours that striker-chasing Manchester City want to sign him up, rumours have surfaced about how far Kane will push in order to make a deal happen.

Former Republic of Ireland international, Cascarino, cannot see the ‘good pro’ Kane stepping over that line.

“I don’t believe Kane would go that far,” said Cascarino. “I think he showed his loyalty.

“I don’t think he would go that far because he’s such a good pro. I think he would honour his contract to a certain level and then he would let his feelings be known.

“This conversation would have happened, not just this year, but the year before from when he originally signed his last contract, which I think was a six-year deal.

“He would have probably said ‘there will be time if I want to go’. And Daniel Levy will be very aware of that. I am sure Kane would have had discussions.”

Well, Man City will have to put a serious amount of cash on the table if they even want to turn Daniel Levy’s head.

Does Kane deserve to be playing Champions League football? No doubt.

And even Spurs fans will accept those in the boardroom have let their star man down with how they have run proceedings in recent years.

But if they are to get back to their best then they need Kane on board.
