Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale earned the reputation of being a golfer during his time at Real Madrid.
The Spanish media made a big deal about Bale playing too much golf and not doing much of note on the pitch for Madrid.
In February 2019, Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said that the players have given the nickname of ‘the golfer’ to the 31-year-old, as quoted in talkSPORT.
The winger did well for Los Blancos in the first few years after joining in 2013, but the Wales international had injury problems over the past two seasons and struggled to get into the starting lineup.
Bale returned to Spurs on loan from Madrid in the summer of 2020, and this afternoon, he was doing a Q&A on Twitch for the North London club.
Joe Rodon was also part of the Q&A, and the Tottenham and Wales international central defender jokingly said to Bale that he lives on the golf course.

Bale made it clear that he does not do that, taking a swipe at people who accuse him of playing too much golf and not concentrating on his football.
Rodon said: “I guess I just live on my playstation, to be honest. Obviously Gaz just lives on the golf course.”
Bale replied: “I don’t actually, but that’s what I am known for.”
