Arsenal are gearing up for a friendly with Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard’s side host the Gunners in Glasgow on the back of crusing to a Scottish Premiership title up north last season.

And there may be a familiar, if unfriendly, face in Arsenal’s squad that Rangers fans will remember.

Former Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has cut short his holiday to make himself available for Mikel Arteta this weekend.

Tierney, who joined Arsenal from Celtic in a £25 million deal two years ago, enjoyed phenomenal success over the Gers during his three-year spell in the Bhoys’ senior side.

Here’s how some fans of the North London club have reacted to that decision on Twitter:

Last chance?

You can take the boy out of Celtic, but you can’t…..well, you know the rest.

Some Arsenal fans may not be happy with the 23-year-old’s decision, given that his own injury record is hardly free of blemishes since moving to the Premier League.

Then again, how many more chances is he going to get to face Rangers?

Friendly or not, Tierney won’t be coming back to Scottish football anytime soon and some might even argue that Arsenal will struggle to keep him for the long term.

This could be his last chance to face the Ibrox side for many, many years and therefore you can’t blame him for cutting short his summer break.
