Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim in recent days.

Correio da Manha, via Sport Witness, recently claimed Spurs are ‘at the head’ of the 38-year-old’s list of suitors.

There has been plenty of speculation around Antonio Conte’s future at Tottenham in recent weeks.

It remains to be seen whether the Italian will remain at Spurs next season.

With that in mind, Tottenham have reportedly drawn up a short-list for who could replace Conte in the dugout.

This week, Amorim really rubber-stamped his credentials as a future ‘supercoach‘.

Namely, reaching the Europa League quarter-finals at the expense of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

And while Amorim seems happy at the club, he refused to rule out a future move elsewhere.

He told Mais Futebol: “I don’t forget what we went through this year and it can go back to.

“Four weeks ago, with Midtjylland, we were talking about white scarves.

“It was in the previous tie. I don’t delude myself with that.

“I am very happy here, my goal is to at least win another championship.

“And I am not looking for anything, but I do not know tomorrow. Everything in my life happened very quickly.

“New Mourinho will not exist and I am prepared to continue with the Sporting project.”

Ticks many boxes for Spurs

Amorim has proven himself to be an outstanding young manager and surely it won’t be long before a big career move beckons.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have gone down the experienced ‘marquee’ manager route and it hasn’t really worked out.

Spurs should go down a similar route to what they did with Mauricio Pochettino, ie getting a talented young manager who’s still building his CV.

And appointing Amorim, who already has a win over Arsenal, would surely go down well with the Tottenham fanbase.
