Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will make a bid for Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech in the January transfer window, according to Gianluca Di Marzio in Soccer News.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that he expects Newcastle to try to sign Morocco international winger Ziyech from Premier League rivals Chelsea after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The 29-year-old, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, starred for Morocco at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The African side reached the semi-finals in Qatar.

Di Marzio said about Ziyech, as translated by GBB: “Ajax… That is another story, they are interested, because his heart is still in the Johan Cruijff ArenA

“They would welcome a return. But after this World Cup… I do expect other Premier League teams to try at Chelsea, in terms of a loan. Newcastle, for example, which is aiming for a Champions League spot.

“And then it just depends on what the player wants, a rental period or a permanent deal. And I think Ziyech is going for the latter variant, so the question is which club can offer him the best project.”

Could Newcastle sign Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea?

In our opinion, Newcastle United could be able to sign Hakim Ziyech from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) winger is not having the best of times at Chelsea and is unlikely to play regularly under manager Graham Potter.

Newcastle are a big club who are established in the Premier League, and, under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), they are going places.

The Magpies are in the race for the Premier League top four at the moment, and we think that they would be very appealing to Ziyech, who has made just one start in the Premier League for Chelsea so far this season.
