Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Jack Grealish has made a prediction about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Fear not Spurs fans, he hasn’t predicted that Kane will be joining Manchester City in the near future. No, instead, Grealish has tipped Kane to break Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record.

Shearer famously netted 260 goals in the Premier League, a record that no other player has even been able to get close to.

However, Grealish thinks that Kane will break the record.

What’s Grealish said?

Grealish was asked to build his so-called ‘ultimate teammate’ based on a number of attributes, and when it came to shooting, he didn’t quite know who to choose between Shearer and Kane.

“I’m going to go with Alan Shearer, or maybe Harry Kane, because I do actually think that Harry Kane will break the record soon. I’ll go Shearer, only because he’s the top scorer ever in the Premier League,” Grealish said.

Tough task

At one point it looked like something of a foregone conclusion that Kane would break this record, but now, it’s a tough task.

Indeed, while Kane is an excellent striker, he’s scored just one league goal so far this season and if he doesn’t return to his best form soon, his chances of breaking Shearer’s record will begin to dwindle.

Grealish seems to be confident that Kane will hit the 260 mark, but as the weeks go by, it’s harder to see how the forward will score the necessary goals to make Premier League history.
