Ian Wright told Premier League Productions (28/02/21 at 12:55 pm) that he ‘didn’t see’ a foul on Nicolas Pepe during Arsenal’s win at Leicester today.
In the first half, before Arsenal were awarded a penalty, their fans felt they should have been awarded one for a foul on Pepe.
Leicester duo Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi were the guilty parties, as it was adjudged by the on-field referee and VAR that Pepe was fouled by the duo – but just outside of the area – although Arsenal fans did argue that a penalty should have been awarded.
But Wright felt that it wasn’t even a foul in the first place, as he couldn’t see any ‘clear and obvious’ contact.
“I didn’t even see that as a foul, to be honest,” said Wright. “But we got something out of it. I won’t argue with that.
“But again, I thought that was a decision for them to take as long as they did I just couldn’t see how they could come up with that as a foul.
“I didn’t see it as a foul. I didn’t see the contact. Clear and obvious contact. It didn’t seem clear to me.”

In the end, Arsenal fans won’t care because they walked away from the King Power Stadium with a deserved three points.
Even though they went behind through an early Tielemans strike, those in North London would have been pretty nervous about what was coming their way.
But Arsenal fought back with David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Pepe all putting their names on the scoresheet.
