Ian Wright took an exception to Roy Keane stating that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane looked ‘sluggish’ during England’s 3-0 win over Senegal at the Qatar World Cup on Sunday.
After going through the group stages without scoring, although he was still one of his side’s best players, Kane netted his first goal of the tournament when England eased through the last-16 stage against the champions of Africa.
Even though Kane scored a brilliantly-worked goal from Gareth Southgate’s men, he still had something negative to say about the Spurs man and that resulted in Arsenal legend Wright giving him a glaring look.

The former Highbury striker thought Kane had to ‘really battle’ with the Senegal players and he felt that he did his job in that regard.
Despite those Keane comments, Wright was sure to stick up for his fellow countryman, as he told ITV Sport.
“I didn’t think he was sluggish there,” said Wright. “I think he has had to really battle with some of them, Roy. That’s what we want from him.
“Once he gets into that situation (through on goal). Then we know he’s going to score.” – Wright then proceeds to give Keane a glaring look.

KEANE’S COMMENTS ON RICHARLISON
It is Christmas time and Keane isn’t the Grinch of Christmas, but the Grinch of the World Cup.
After those comments at Kane, the happiest pundit in the world then proceeded to take exception to the Brazilian players, led by Richarlison, dancing for their celebrations after they scored and knocked South Korea out of the World Cup.
That’s what Brazil have been all about over the decades and it’s part of their identity, but the world is such a place that if you smile now, then it will offend someone.
