Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been waxing-lyrical about Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford after his impressive season.
Bamford has hit 15 goals already for Leeds in their first season after promotion, and it looks as though he’s going to be a contender for the England squad at the Euros.
Ferdinand thinks that Bamford has a real chance of getting an international call-up, expressing how surprised he’s been by Bamford’s emergence.
“I think opening it up with 26 players has given him a better chance, I think the way it was with 23 players he wouldn’t have been going. But he might have a chance of going. 15 goals in the Premier League in his first season, I didn’t expect it, and he’s done really, really well. I watched him at the weekend and he ran Spurs ragged with his movement, he didn’t get on the end of everything, but the centre-halves couldn’t get near him,” Ferdinand said.

Ferdinand is right about Bamford, he ran Spurs ragged at the weekend.
To be fair, nobody saw this coming from the striker this season.
Last term it looked as though Bamford wasn’t even good enough to lead the line for Leeds in the Championship, but all of a sudden, he’s one of the Premier League’s most potent hitmen.
Fingers crossed he can keep this sort of form up and force his way into Gareth Southgate’s plans.
