Ben Chilwell posted on his Instagram story to Bukayo Saka that he ‘didn’t even ask’ footage of his nutmeg on the Arsenal player to be posted after it resurfaced on Tuesday.
England’s official Instagram and Twitter accounts posted a clip of the Chelsea defender nutmegging the Arsenal teenager in training during Euro 2020.
Chilwell responded to that by rubbing it in on his national teammate by saying: ‘I didn’t even ask them to post it’ added with laughing emojis.
During England’s run to the Euro 2020 final, one thing that was obvious was the togetherness between the players.
And whilst at club level, Saka dons the colours of Arsenal and Chilwell reps Chelsea, the duo did build up quite a bond at St George’s Park.
That was one reason behind why Gareth Southgate managed to guide the Three Lions to their first major final since 66′.
It may have ended in heartbreak, but with talents like Saka at the helm, then it’s just the start for these players.
But all of that togetherness will be out of the window when the Premier League season starts in August.
Arsenal are pushing to get back into Europe, whilst Chelsea are hoping to win the Premier League title after their Champions League triumph last season.
Chilwell is still a key player for Thomas Tuchel, but he doesn’t hold as important of a role as Saka plays because he is Arsenal’s best player.
