Thierry Henry has praised Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka for what they have brought to Arsenal this season, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (07/09/22 at 10:40 pm).

The legendary striker added that ‘I didn’t believe like that for a long time that we could do something’ as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League table.

Even though Champions League football alluded them last season, there has been a lot of positive vibes around the Emirates since the start of the summer.

A lot of it stems from the productive and strong 2022 summer transfer window, which included the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

The 25-year-old lit the fire with his performances in pre-season and now he has turned it up a gear as Arsenal have won the opening five of their six matches this season.

Henry spoke about Jesus’ importance and how he ‘knows how to win’, Saliba changing the way Arteta plays, as well as giving mentions to Odegaard and Saka.

“The team is different,” said Henry. “When you get the likes of Gabriel Jesus, you get Saliba, who allows you to play higher. Then Odegaard, and the way he is right now and Bukayo Saka.

“What it is with Gabriel Jesus is that he knows how to win. He has won. He is bringing that into the team and you can see it.

“Saying that, the way we beat Fulham and we beat Villa, we were a bit emotional. On the pitch, on the bench and in the stadium. There was a lot of up and down.

“But I believe. I didn’t believe like that for a very long time that we could do something.”

SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT AT ARSENAL…

The manner in which Arsenal have started the new Premier League season is one that is making people stand up and notice because there is a different buzz around the place.

The fact that the celebration police are out in full force criticising Arsenal for their actions after wins, just goes to show that they are starting to rattle the cages.

Arsenal are no longer being mocked for their abject defending, lack of style of play or being thrashed away from home, but for celebrating a win.

But whilst it’s all rosy in the garden for the Gooners, Arteta will know full well to keep everyone’s feet on the ground because the real crunch moments will come during the final few months of the season.
