Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Danny Rose’s new comments about his future.
Rose is back at his parent club Tottenham after a loan spell at Premier League rivals Newcastle United during the second half of this past season.
According to The Northern Echo, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce wants to bring the England international left-back back to St. James’ Park for next season.
The Daily Star has claimed that Leeds United want to sign the 30-year-old this summer, with the Englsihman having been at the Whites as a youth player before he moved to Spurs in 2007.
Rose is out of contract at Tottenham next summer, and it is unlikely that the North London outfit will hand him a new deal.
The England international has spoken highly of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful, and he has said that he wants to stay at the club next season and fulfil his contract.
Rose said on the Second Captions podcast, as transcribed by The Northern Echo: “I am very happy to stay at Tottenham and see my last ten or 11 months out, I would love to. There is nothing I want more than to play one more time in front of the fans.
“My last game for Spurs was a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool and at the time I didn’t know that was going to be or could be my last game for Spurs. I want nothing more than to play in front of the Tottenham fans one more time, just to cherish all the moments we have had over the years with them.
“They have always been good to me, I have possibly given them reasons in the past not to be so good to me, but they know when it was game time I gave everything for them. I will continue to do that as long as I am contracted to Tottenham.”
Rose’s new comments come just after a month when he admitted that he could leave Tottenham this summer.
The Shields Gazette quoted the left-back as saying on July 5, 2020: “For me, I’d love to play for Newcastle for longer than what’s on my contract
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that my days possibly are numbered at Spurs, and I’m playing for my future.”
Some Tottenham fans have given their take on Rose’s new comments, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter.
