Jamie O’Hara has shared that Everton-bound, Ashley Cole, is an ‘absolutely phenomenal’ coach, as he told Sky Sports News (01/02/22 at 9:25 am).

The former Premier League midfielder shared that he did his UEFA coaching badges with Cole, who is now closing in on a move to Everton, as reported by Sky Sports.

Frank Lampard is in the manager’s hot seat at Goodison Park and it looks like he is going to bring his ex-Chelsea teammate to Everton as part of his backroom staff.

Cole has done some coaching already, including with the England youngsters, but he now could step into a bigger spotlight.

Nonetheless, O’Hara shared what Cole is like out on the training pitch and when he is setting up drills.

“I did my UEFA coaching badges with Ashley Cole,” said O’Hara. “And he was fantastic.

“His knowledge of the game is incredible. His defensive side and the technical aspects of where to put yourself. How to set up drills defensively for coaching was absolutely phenomenal.

“Plus the fact that he is Ashley Cole, probably the best left-back we have seen in the Premier League, so incredible experience to bring him on that note.

“I worked with him. I saw him coach, day in and day out. I thought he was absolutely exceptional.”

If Cole the player can transcend the magic he used to produce on the pitch out on the training ground, then he will become a top, top coach.

Just like Lampard, there will be many players at Goodison Park who will just be looking forward to working day-to-day with former England player.

Forget about the graft on the training pitch, just picking his brains is good enough, but these Everton players will get the best of both worlds.

Added with that, after having Rafa Benitez in charge, the mood around the club and Finch Farm might just change for the better.
