Ben White posted a colossal defensive performance for Arsenal on Thursday night.

Well, virtually all of Arsenal’s defenders – including second-half sub Rob Holding – were excellent at Molineux.

But White, a £50 million signing last summer [Sky Sports], was faultless.

The Gunners secured a 1-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers but had to play with 10 men for the final 20 minutes, following a red card for Gabriel Martinelli.

And the former Brighton & Hove Albion powerhouse repelled every ball that flew into the visitors’ box during that time – and we’re talking about a lot of crosses.

The 24-year-old displayed his passion for Arsenal after the victory at Wanderers – and even flexed his tattoos by removing his shirt to showcase his torso.

Here’s how White reacted to the win on Instagram:

There’s a brilliant sense of banter and community within this Arsenal squad, so much so that Mikel Arteta has sought to protect it by removing every player who threatens to make himself a bad egg.

And here’s how teammate Emile Smith Rowe responded to White’s message on Instagram:

He wrote: “Bro take that shirt off one more time I dare u.”

It really was a massive victory for Arsenal.

Arteta’s outfit are fifth in the Premier League standings and only one point behind fourth-placed West Ham United.

However, the North Londoners also have two games in hand over the Irons and given that Spurs and Manchester United – two more top-four rivals – dropped points in midweek, that added to the scale of the final 20 minutes at Molineux.
